Google Forms
Add Google Forms to your product for your customers, and give your AI agents governed access to it.
A Google Forms response does not carry the question text. It carries answers keyed by question id, so anything your product does with a submission depends on first reading the form's own item list and holding onto that mapping. It is the single thing people get wrong. Forms are edited the way Docs are, through an ordered batchUpdate that creates items, moves them or changes their options, which means a form can be generated from your product's own schema instead of built by hand. Notifications are watches: you register one against a form, responses arrive through Pub/Sub rather than a poll, and the watch expires after seven days unless it is renewed, so renewal is a scheduled job rather than a setup step somebody does once. Each customer authorises their own account, so your product only ever sees forms that person can already open.
In your product
Embedded for your customers. Per-tenant auth, no per-customer code, maintained by fastn.
Let a customer connect their own Google account so your product reads the forms they already own instead of asking them to rebuild one.
Read the item list once and keep the question id mapping, so a submitted answer can be matched to the question that asked it.
Generate a form from your product's own fields in a single ordered batchUpdate, then hand the customer the link.
Register a watch per form and renew it before the seven-day expiry, so responses arrive as events rather than on a poll.
For your AI agents
Governed, audited access for the agents you build, through the MCP server.
An agent summarises the responses to a form and reports which questions were most often skipped.
An agent adds a question to an existing form within scoped permissions, with the change recorded.
An agent explains which form a stray response came from by resolving its question ids.
Example prompt
Summarise this week's responses to the onboarding form and tell me which question people abandon.
Set up Google Forms in 4 steps
- 01Enable the Google Forms connector in your fastn dashboard.
- 02Have each customer authorise their own Google account, so your product reaches only the forms they can already open.
- 03Read each form's item list and store the question id mapping, then register a response watch and schedule its renewal.
- 04Call it from your product and expose the same connection to your agents through the MCP gateway.
Why teams use the Google Forms integration
What you get by embedding it with fastn instead of building it yourself.
- Ship a Google Forms integration without building it. Your customers connect their own Google Forms account inside your product and work their records, datasets and fields there, with no per-customer code on your side.
- Handle the part that actually costs time: schemas differ per customer and change without notice, and volumes can be large. fastn owns the auth, token refresh, rate limits, pagination and breaking-change fixes, so a Google Forms update is not your on-call problem.
- One integration serves your product and your agents. The same governed Google Forms connection powers in-product features and gives AI agents scoped, audited access, so you read and write your customers' data where it already lives without wiring it twice.

Google Forms integration FAQ
How do I add a Google Forms integration to my product?
Enable the Google Forms connector in your fastn dashboard, then let each customer authenticate their own Google Forms account. fastn handles the OAuth flow, token storage and refresh per tenant, so there is no Google Forms client code in your app and no per-customer branch in your codebase. Setup is 4 steps.
Do my customers each connect their own Google Forms account?
Yes. Every connection is scoped to the individual customer, so each authorises their own Google Forms account and only ever sees their own records, datasets and fields. That per-tenant isolation is the point of an embedded integration: you support the long tail of customer setups without maintaining an integration per customer.
Can AI agents use this Google Forms integration?
Yes. The same connection is exposed to your agents through the fastn MCP gateway, with permissions scoped per tenant and every call audited. An agent summarises the responses to a form and reports which questions were most often skipped.
Who maintains the Google Forms integration?
fastn does. When Google Forms changes an endpoint, deprecates a field or alters its auth, the fix lands in the connector rather than in your backlog, and your customers' connections keep working.
Does the Google Forms integration adapt when a customer's schema changes?
Schema and field mapping is configuration per customer, so a change on their side is a mapping update rather than a code change and a release on yours.
How are large Google Forms reads handled?
Pagination and throttling are handled for you, and initial backfills are rate-limited so a large import does not exhaust a customer's API allowance.
What can I build with the Google Forms integration?
A common starting point: let a customer connect their own Google account so your product reads the forms they already own instead of asking them to rebuild one. Teams also use it for the other use cases listed above, and expose it to agents for governed reads and writes.
How much does the Google Forms integration cost?
It is included. Pricing is based on connected accounts, not on how many connectors you enable, so adding Google Forms does not change your per-connector cost. You can start free with 3 connected accounts.
