Quickbase

Add Quickbase to your product for your customers, and give your AI agents governed access to it.

Quickbase is a low-code application platform, and its REST API works in exactly the nouns you would expect from one: apps, tables, fields, records, relationships and saved reports, queried against fields rather than with SQL. The fact that decides whether an integration is maintainable is that Quickbase addresses fields by numeric id, not by label, so two customers' fields called Status are different fields and a mapping built from names will silently point at the wrong column. Every customer's app is therefore its own schema, which is the whole point of the platform and the reason field mapping has to be read from that customer's metadata rather than assumed. Bulk upserts key on a field you nominate, so a re-run updates rather than duplicates. fastn holds each realm's token per tenant.

In your product

Embedded for your customers. Per-tenant auth, no per-customer code, maintained by fastn.

Let each customer connect their own Quickbase realm so your product reads and writes the tables their app already runs on.

Read field definitions before you map anything, because Quickbase addresses fields by id and two customers' Status fields are not the same field.

Insert and update records in bulk with a nominated key field, so re-running an import updates rows rather than duplicating them.

Run a saved report a customer already trusts instead of recomposing its query in your own code.

For your AI agents

Governed, audited access for the agents you build, through the MCP server.

An agent queries a table for the records that answer a question and cites the app it read them from.

An agent creates or updates records within the role its token was granted, and every write is logged.

An agent inspects a table's fields and relationships before it composes a query.

Example prompt

Find the open records in this table with no owner set, and tell me which app they came from.

Set up Quickbase in 4 steps

  1. 01Enable the Quickbase connector in your fastn dashboard.
  2. 02Have each customer authorise their own realm with a token scoped to the roles your product needs.
  3. 03Read that customer's tables and field ids, map them, then enable the queries, upserts and reports you use.
  4. 04Call it from your product and expose the same connection to your agents through the MCP gateway.

Why teams use the Quickbase integration

What you get by embedding it with fastn instead of building it yourself.

  • Ship a Quickbase integration without building it. Your customers connect their own Quickbase account inside your product and work their records, datasets and fields there, with no per-customer code on your side.
  • Handle the part that actually costs time: schemas differ per customer and change without notice, and volumes can be large. fastn owns the auth, token refresh, rate limits, pagination and breaking-change fixes, so a Quickbase update is not your on-call problem.
  • One integration serves your product and your agents. The same governed Quickbase connection powers in-product features and gives AI agents scoped, audited access, so you read and write your customers' data where it already lives without wiring it twice.

Quickbase integration FAQ

How do I add a Quickbase integration to my product?

Enable the Quickbase connector in your fastn dashboard, then let each customer authenticate their own Quickbase account. fastn handles the OAuth flow, token storage and refresh per tenant, so there is no Quickbase client code in your app and no per-customer branch in your codebase. Setup is 4 steps.

Do my customers each connect their own Quickbase account?

Yes. Every connection is scoped to the individual customer, so each authorises their own Quickbase account and only ever sees their own records, datasets and fields. That per-tenant isolation is the point of an embedded integration: you support the long tail of customer setups without maintaining an integration per customer.

Can AI agents use this Quickbase integration?

Yes. The same connection is exposed to your agents through the fastn MCP gateway, with permissions scoped per tenant and every call audited. An agent queries a table for the records that answer a question and cites the app it read them from.

Who maintains the Quickbase integration?

fastn does. When Quickbase changes an endpoint, deprecates a field or alters its auth, the fix lands in the connector rather than in your backlog, and your customers' connections keep working.

Does the Quickbase integration adapt when a customer's schema changes?

Schema and field mapping is configuration per customer, so a change on their side is a mapping update rather than a code change and a release on yours.

How are large Quickbase reads handled?

Pagination and throttling are handled for you, and initial backfills are rate-limited so a large import does not exhaust a customer's API allowance.

What can I build with the Quickbase integration?

A common starting point: let each customer connect their own Quickbase realm so your product reads and writes the tables their app already runs on. Teams also use it for the other use cases listed above, and expose it to agents for governed reads and writes.

How much does the Quickbase integration cost?

It is included. Pricing is based on connected accounts, not on how many connectors you enable, so adding Quickbase does not change your per-connector cost. You can start free with 3 connected accounts.
