ShipMonk is a third party logistics provider, which means the stock belongs to your customer but the warehouse does not. That changes what the integration is for: your product is handing work to somebody else's operation and then reading back what happened to it. An embedded ShipMonk integration creates and cancels orders, reads inventory per SKU and per fulfilment centre, reads shipments with their tracking, and reads returns as they arrive and are inspected. Two constraints follow from the model. The stock count is the 3PL's number rather than yours, so read it instead of keeping your own. And once an order is released to the floor it may be too late to change, so a cancellation has to handle being refused. fastn holds each customer's credentials and carries the API changes.
