Docmosis

Add Docmosis to your product for your customers, and give your AI agents governed access to it.

Docmosis Cloud renders through a regional host such as us1.dws4.docmosis.com rather than a single global name, and calling the wrong region with a valid key fails, so the region has to be stored alongside the credential. A render request names a template already uploaded to the account, supplies data as JSON and asks for an output format, and the same DOCX or ODT template can produce PDF, DOCX or HTML from one call. Template fields are markers written into the document itself, so a mismatch between the JSON keys and the markers produces a rendered file with blank sections instead of an error, which is the usual reason a first integration looks fine and is not. Repeating sections and conditional blocks are driven by array and boolean shapes in the payload, so the data structure, not the template, controls how many rows appear. fastn holds each customer's key and region and keeps the integration current.

In your product

Embedded for your customers. Per-tenant auth, no per-customer code, maintained by fastn.

Let a customer connect their own Docmosis account and upload the templates your product will render against

Generate a branded PDF contract or invoice from a record in your app using the customer's own template

Offer the same document as PDF for signing and DOCX for editing from a single render request

Let a customer swap in a new template version without any change to your product's data payload

For your AI agents

Governed, audited access for the agents you build, through the MCP server.

Let an agent render a document from a named template and return the file, without editing the template itself

Have an agent check a payload against a template's markers and report which fields would render blank

Audit, per tenant, every template an agent rendered and the output format it requested

Example prompt

Which fields in our invoice template would come out blank with this order's data in Docmosis?

Set up Docmosis in 4 steps

  1. 01Enable the Docmosis connector from your fastn dashboard.
  2. 02Have each customer authorise their own Docmosis account, so calls run under their credentials rather than a shared key.
  3. 03Decide which files, documents and versions your product needs, map those fields, then enable the actions and triggers you want.
  4. 04Call it from your product and expose it to your agents through the same governed connection.

Why teams use the Docmosis integration

What you get by embedding it with fastn instead of building it yourself.

  • Ship a Docmosis integration without building it. Your customers connect their own Docmosis account inside your product and work their files, documents and versions there, with no per-customer code on your side.
  • Handle the part that actually costs time: permissions and versioning are easy to get subtly wrong, and mistakes expose content. fastn owns the auth, token refresh, rate limits, pagination and breaking-change fixes, so a Docmosis update is not your on-call problem.
  • One integration serves your product and your agents. The same governed Docmosis connection powers in-product features and gives AI agents scoped, audited access, so you let your product work with your customers' documents in place without wiring it twice.

Docmosis integration FAQ

How do I add a Docmosis integration to my product?

Enable the Docmosis connector in your fastn dashboard, then let each customer authenticate their own Docmosis account. fastn handles the OAuth flow, token storage and refresh per tenant, so there is no Docmosis client code in your app and no per-customer branch in your codebase. Setup is 4 steps.

Do my customers each connect their own Docmosis account?

Yes. Every connection is scoped to the individual customer, so each authorises their own Docmosis account and only ever sees their own files, documents and versions. That per-tenant isolation is the point of an embedded integration: you support the long tail of customer setups without maintaining an integration per customer.

Can AI agents use this Docmosis integration?

Yes. The same connection is exposed to your agents through the fastn MCP gateway, with permissions scoped per tenant and every call audited. Let an agent render a document from a named template and return the file, without editing the template itself

Who maintains the Docmosis integration?

fastn does. When Docmosis changes an endpoint, deprecates a field or alters its auth, the fix lands in the connector rather than in your backlog, and your customers' connections keep working.

Whose permissions does the Docmosis integration run under?

Each customer's own Docmosis grant. Where Docmosis holds a library, their existing folder and item permissions apply and your product cannot reach content the connected account could not reach itself. Where it processes content you supply rather than storing it, the call runs under that customer's own credentials and is logged per tenant.

Can my product create or update content in Docmosis automatically?

Where Docmosis supports writes, documents, entries and assets can be created, updated and filed from your product or by an agent within scoped permissions, with each action logged. Where it is a read surface, the same connection serves reads only.

What can I build with the Docmosis integration?

A common starting point: let a customer connect their own Docmosis account and upload the templates your product will render against. Teams also use it for the other use cases listed above, and expose it to agents for governed reads and writes.

How much does the Docmosis integration cost?

It is included. Pricing is based on connected accounts, not on how many connectors you enable, so adding Docmosis does not change your per-connector cost. You can start free with 3 connected accounts.
