The detail that catches integrations out is that these records are effective dated. A change is not an overwrite, it has a date it takes effect from, which means asking what somebody earns is incomplete without asking when, and a naive read of the current row will misstate anyone with a future dated promotion or a backdated correction. The integration surface is also mixed, with modern endpoints alongside older report based extracts, so what a customer can expose depends on their configuration. Employment data is sensitive, so only mapped fields travel and every read is logged.
